Outdoor Christmas Ornaments – Getting Creative

What is the purpose of decorating for Christmas? I believe it is to spread the joy of the Christmas season, not only in the inside of your home, but the outside as well for all to enjoy. The villages, cities and towns decorate the street lamps and store windows, the whole town is lit up with the joy of Christmas. So you should also put your outdoor Christmas ornaments in your yard to enjoy.

As you make your plans for your own decorating for the holidays, make sure you will be able to handle the increase in the power bill, as we know these lights to take up a bit of juice. There are a variety of lights and outdoor Christmas ornaments to choose from, allowing you to go with your theme choice. There are lights that are in the shapes of Reindeer, angels, toy trains, and of course, Santa Claus.

There are also outdoor Christmas ornaments that are made of fiberglass or plastic that are lit from behind or within. These come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and can depict the secular or Biblical side of Christmas. You will find candy canes, elves, reindeer, snowmen, Santa, and some beautiful Nativity scenes, angels, the three wise men and shepherds. These can create a beautiful scene in your yard, bringing the true spirit of Christmas.

To me, the Nativity signifies the true and complete meaning of Christmas. This is why it is the most popular of all the outdoor Christmas ornaments. This provides a visual replica of the birth of Jesus Christ, the mother Mary, and Joseph. Then you can also add the three wise men and animals to bring even a greater feel of that sacred night.

The nativity scenes come from the simple ones carved of wood to the elaborate light displays, a variety for every taste and budget. I have even seen some beautiful outdoor Christmas ornaments that have been created by the families out of cardboard or cut wood and painted with a single light shining on the front of the display.

Now, if you were to ask the children what type of outdoor Christmas ornaments they would choose, then you will hear them say the large inflatables. There are the giant snowmen that are lit up at night, such as Santa. I have even seen a giant snow-globe with a merry-go-round inside it, rotating in the light. There is the huge Christmas Snoopy, and some have even added the Grinch. These are quite fun, kids will always have you slow down when you drive by a display such as this. And the great thing about the inflatable outdoor Christmas ornaments, is once it's time to take the decorations down, you just simply deflate and fold, then pack it away safely for the next season.

Go have fun decorating with these fun outdoor Christmas ornaments and have a Merry Christmas.
